Australian Blogger Olive Riley, Dies at 108

Known to bloggers everywhere, as “The Worlds Oldest Blogger”, Australian blogger Olive Riley died over the weekend, at the age of 108. Sad, amazing, interesting, all of the above!

Riley lived through not one, but two World Wars, raised three children, and lived her final years in Wales. She was sprite and seemd to have energy of someone much younger. I think it is awesome that Riley had an interest (and talent) in something as web 2.0 as blogging, when most her age, are afraid to even look at a PC. Olive Riley, got her start in blogging at the urging of a filmmaker who did a documentary on her life a few years ago.

I doubt very much that i will be blogging by the time i reach 100, because i think my fingers would have fallen off by then. Even though Olive Riley started blogging late in life, she quite enjoyed it, and was good at it. She had a nice following, and as reported in a CNN article, Riley was accustomed to receiving thousands of email messages from bloggers scattered around the globe. All wishing her success and offering words of inspiration.

Australian blogger Olive Riley, was a bona fide blogging celebrity, a rare gem in the blog o sphere. She will be missed. (R.I.P.)

@Ashley K. Edwards: “A passion for blogging” is a great way to put it. She had this in spades.
