Why Do Bloggers Blog?

Why do people blog? Why has blogging exploded in the last year?

There is a blog for every conceivable topic imaginable, everything from vegetarianism to green living, from blog flipping to reggae music, living more frugally. On and on it goes. You name it and someone somewhere writes a blog about it.

But why?

Why the fascination, why this need to share with the WORLD our thoughts, ideas, and opinions. Why this very public dissemination of information.

In a nutshell, blogging is just that. An incurable case of sharing (via the written word), our personal view on a give topic.

We are writers, communicators, info seekers, but most of all we LOVE to share. We spread each others content around the web, like wildfire.

We network like crazy endless hours everyday, and we look out after each other.

We have our own ecosystem, to survive we need one another. No blogger can sustain him or herself, without the web of each other blogger.

Bloggers are info addicts. We consume ungodly amounts of information daily.

We read voraciously, and again we share what we consumer, what we read.

Bloggers cannot get enough. We are info junkies, we subscribe to hundeds of blogs and news sources, which we actually read.

We visit each others blogs, and we comment when we have something to add.

But why?

Why do we do all of the above. Could it be as a friend of mine said, “bloggers blog because of money”.

Let me answer that. No! We blog because we are the future, the future is here, and it is us.

Old media is dead, NEW MEDIA has taken over.

There is too much information, and we have taken over to disseminate, share, and opinionate. There are millions of bloggers, and more join the ranks daily. Fact is there are a variety of ways of making money online, besides blogs and blogging. So those who specifically choose to blog, are a different animal.

Blogging is alot of work, it isnt as simple, as writing content. There is alot of behind the scenes stuff that needs to be implemented, in order to take a blog from zero to hero.

Bottom Line

Bloggers blog because we love to share of ourselves, we love to participate in the dissemination of information, and because we feel we have valuable gifts, to give to the world.
