Hybrid sport utility vehicles truely seem to offer consumers the best of both worlds. They are large enough to haul your family while at the same time reducing fuel costs and pollution. Although the Prius has long been the most well known and top selling hybrid vehicle, hybrid SUV’s are gaining in popularity. While only a few options were available just two years ago, there are currently ten hybrid SUVs that you can buy today, with more coming later this year along with several others scheduled for release in 2009 and 2010.
Jeff Carey launched HybridSUV.com a year ago this month, in September of 2007. After researching and driving several hybrids, Carey decided he wanted an all-wheel drive vehicle with seating for 7 and the ability to tow a boat or trailer as needed. And while he eventually chose a Toyota Highlander, he was frustrated that there wasn’t a website dedicated to hybrid SUV comparisons. That’s when he made the decision to build one himself. In its first year, his hybrid blog has attracted over a quarter million visitors and earned several page one rankings on Google, Yahoo, and MSN.
HybridSUV.com includes articles about past, current, and future hybrids. Some of the most popular areas of the site include a SUV gas mileage comparison chart and the SUV safety ratings article. If you’re in the market for a hybrid or a sport utility vehicle, this is a great place to begin your research.
